A supernatural creature, just wandering the city at night? Weren’t there organizations for this? She could have been another demon, in which case Mara didn’t want to get involved, but she could also be a vision, or even a ghost - she knew most humans didn’t see ghosts, so there was nothing to worry about, right?
But all three of these things could still be big trouble, seen or unseen; and she wouldn’t be able to get back to sleep knowing she was out there... So, grabbing a jacket, she went downstairs. Maybe she’d already be gone by the time she got down there; and then Mara could at least rest assured she would have done something.
But she was there, and Mara suddenly found herself without courage. She may not have been the most menacing thing she’d ever seen, but making Mara nervous was not exactly a difficult task.
She took a step back against the wall of the building, wondering whether or not she’d even noticed she was there, and whether or not she should hurry back inside.
