Welcome to the Thiam Reverse Bang 2022!
Due to popular demand from the Thiam community, we have decided to host another Reverse Bang!
Similar to the Big Bang, a Reverse Bang is a collaborative event between artists and writers. Artists will create art that will be anonymously claimed by writers. The writers will each create a story inspired by their chosen artwork.
Expectations for all participants
Anyone is welcome to participate!
All participants must be registered for this event in order to submit art or post in September.Â
All participants are expected to read, understand, and adhere to the event rules. Any works that do not abide by these requirements will not be accepted.
All participants are expected to work with and respect their event partner and Moderators. This includes responding to messages and sending artwork/updates in a timely manner. Any infractions may result in the participantâs removal from the event.Â
All participants are expected to respond to Email and Google Forms as their primary contact with the Mod team and any form of contact between their partners.
Artists must submit at least one (1) piece of Thiam artwork by the rough draft deadline.
Unless otherwise specified, each piece submitted will act as a standalone during the claiming phase. During the first Artist deadline, there will be a field for stating which artworks belong in a series and which are separate.Â
Art may either be a newly unpublished piece OR a previously created piece that has not been inspired by an existing fanfiction or created for a separate Thiam event.
Artists have the opportunity to decide which personal warnings are off-limits for the writer/artwork.Â
Artists may only submit art they have made. Any instances of plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification.Â
Artists may work through 2 tracks: Traditional (Not paired with a writer) and Partners (Already paired with a specific writer)
Both types of artists will submit their drafts on the listed due date. However, only Traditional artworks will enter the claiming phase.Â
Artists in the partnering track may work with up to 2 Writers.Â
Artists may also sign up as writers as long as they can fulfill the responsibilities of each. (Please fill out both forms.)
Artists are free to tweak artwork after claims, but the piece should represent its entire concept to your potential writer during the claiming phase.
Authors may work through 2 tracks: Traditional (Not paired with an artist) and Partners (Already paired with a specific artist.)
Only Traditional Authors will receive directions for Claiming Phase. Â
Claims will happen as follows:
Registered Authors will choose one (1) piece of art. If there is unclaimed artwork following this, writers will be given the option to claim another piece of artwork to write for. Alternatively, the event may also be opened up to individuals who have not already signed up to participate to ensure all artwork is claimed.
Authors who select artwork created by underage artists (17 or below), must not include Explicit content in their story. No exceptions allowed.Â
Authors must respectfully not include content with warnings specified by Artists during claims (such as tropes or themes that may not be included in the fic).
Authors may not alter or demand changes to any art to fit their story unless the artist explicitly permits the request.
Writers may also sign up as Artists as long as they can fulfill the responsibilities of each role.
Art meets the qualifications for claiming if it:
Focuses significantly on Theo x Liam. Non-Thiam relationships or moresomes involving other characters are not allowed to be the focus of the primary piece(s) of artwork.
Posts to Tumblr with a link to all artworks and a link to the inspired story (Image embedding recommended but not required).Â
IMPORTANT: Art must not be displayed/shared publicly before claims or posting week.
All stories meet the qualifications for posting if they:
Are completed upon posting week, as a one-shot or chaptered fic.Â
Post to AO3 and are included in the Official archive for the Thiam Reverse Big Bang.Â
Tag AO3âs major archive warnings, including Major Character Death, non-con, underage, and graphic violence. All underage characters engaging in sexual content must be legally consenting and at least 16 years of age.Â
Link to the Artistâs master post and/or embed artwork in AO3 posting (with Artistâs permission)
Withdrawing from the Event
Sometimes life throws unexpected challenges our way and we canât complete projects as expected. All we ask is for participants to contact the Mod Team as soon as possible when you know you can no longer participate. This will enable Pinch Hitters to either create a piece of artwork for a story, or to write an accompanying story for a piece of artwork.
