i think i first saw the "starscream as megatron's daughter" thing from @transfemstarscream before she got termed, but i kind of... skimmed past any post she made on the topic since IIRC she was talking about legends of the microns. which i had not watched at the time. and then she got termed, so i don't know what her analysis actually was :(
then when i was actually watching microns with @maverickflare it's something we talked about a lot because of um. well. her being his daughter there LMFAO like she is pretty explicitly his heir, which (as he is a self-styled emperor and the show's theming leans heavily on children & parents' responsibilities towards their children) reads as familial.
but TBH it didn't become my default interpretation until i was like. god i hate megastar. it's the default lens that EVERYONE views their relationship through and i'm so bored of it i hate it i hate it i need something new. i'm going to view them as parent/child because it means i'm doing my own thing and it usually lends an interesting parallel between megatron & starscream and optimus & whoever his kid is (usually bumblebee, sometimes hot rod). then i talked to david and realized it was also his default interpretation LMFAO
