while the holidays weren’t necessarily something gavin enjoyed, he was starting to warm up to them ever since he became involved with his partner. in the past, they were a mere reflection of the picturesque and happy childhood that he was unfairly robbed of. but now, he had a ‘family’. while that family merely consisted of his boyfriend and his coworkers, it was more than he could’ve ever wished for. although, he had to admit that tina was doing a little too much when it came to decorating the precinct. he was about to leave the break room with a cup of hot cocoa in hand when he noticed nines standing on the threshold. he paused as he offered the other a smile, “nines… i wouldn’t stand there too long if i were you.” there was a playful lilt to his voice as he took a step toward the other, glancing upward toward the sprig of mistletoe that was hanging above the other’s head. “someone might just… kiss you.” it may not have been professional to do, but he couldn’t stop himself from stealing a quick kiss from the other. there was a cheesy grin plastered across his face as he pulled back, noticing the red colour of the other’s led. “what? are you surprised that i have a small festive bone in my body, tin can?”
