In five minutes, she has to meet his twin for a jog and five minutes before the meet up time was already late for Cheyenne. She was practically taking a flight down the stairs and when she reached the last step, she ended up tripping. Sprawled on the floor, she attempted to move but the sudden motion shot up the pain from her right knee.
Nightmare // Owen & Open
Owen hadn’t spent very much time in the library since his arrival at the institute - with getting settled in for a while, hanging out in the lab, being sent out on a mission, then coming back and finding reporters practically stalking the residents of the mansion. Actually, he hadn’t even stepped inside the library. Now that things seemed to be quieting down, he decided to utilize his worry-free time and check it out. Although not quite sure what he was expecting, he definitely did not think he’d be walking into such a massive room. The amount of books stored there was enough to last him the rest of his life, he was sure.
After what had to be an hour of looking through the collection, he picked out a book which explored the adventures of a young adult male discovering he had strange powers. What was especially entertaining to him was the genre it was labeled as. Fantasy. What he could shake while reading through the first couple chapters was the question of whether the author was a mutant. Owen found himself relating so heavily to the character while reading through his manifestation of his abilities. It could all have been theoretical, or even just something out of the man’s imagination - but he had this weird feeling a fellow mutant might have been involved in the making of the book. While contemplating that thought, however, he drifted off into a deep slumber.
It wasn’t until the next morning, sprawled out on the couch in one of the sitting rooms on the first floor, that Owen abruptly woke. “Dad? No!” He was in the middle of a nightmare, a reenactment of the day his father was assassinated playing in his head. It was a loud noise that woke him and sent him tumbling off the couch. He quickly picked himself up off of the floor and started to rib his arm, which he landed on when he fell. It took him a moment, but he finally became aware of another person standing on the other side of the room. He gave an awkward wave, but not before his face turned red in embarrassment. “How long have you ben standing there?”
"Okay, I know that I’ve been on a mission for about a week or so, but does someone want to maybe fill me in on why there are reporters lurking around school grounds? And how they found out we’re here? Or why they... what is... did we... someone please just tell me what’s going on.”
“Hey. You don’t have to go out and deal with those people.” London spoke quickly, he paused as his nervous began to get the better of him. He lowered his head as if in shame, “I could... I can go out for you. Teleport out and get whatever you need.” He spoke now with renewed confidence.

With the hype excalating in the media about Xavier's, he could feel his body grow warm and anger build inside each time he saw reporters outside. The people here came here for privacy, not to be exploited like this. Highly irritated Remy looked out the window of the mansion to a reporter outside in the distance, and gave a clearly fake grin and a smile. “Bet I could make dis guy wish he picked another career?” He spoke out loud, expressing his interest in using his powers to blow the man’s camera up - or maybe the man himself.
Danger Room? More Like Panic Room / London + Ororo
London began combat training just a week before and was incredibly nervous to be entering the Danger Room for the first time. His teachers had assured him he was ready, but an overwhelming sense of self-doubt was taking over now. He knew the Danger Room had restrictions to keep him from getting obliterated or seriously injured, but whatever comfort he took in being safeguarded was balanced out by a fear of failure. As he stepped into the room, the computers went to work and gave him a dimly lit street setting to work through. A handful of system-generated thugs came around the corner and bounded towards him all at once. London teleported a few feet back but they simply kept coming.
“Okay, be smart..” London teleported to a space directly behind the thugs. He reached out and touched one man’s shoulder blade. His body slowed and then stuck in running position. London turned sideways and kicked the man’s heavy body right in his ass (not to be comical, but because he couldn’t force his leg any higher). The frozen man toppled over and clattered to the floor, still frozen.
By that time the other three adversaries had spun around and were heading towards him. London’s hands clamped up into fists but made no motion to defend their owner. He stumbled backwards and teleported, evading his captors. “Help..” he muttered to himself.
“This? No, I found this...” The lie rolled off his tongue so swiftly that he almost believed it to be the truth. Remy made it a point not to reveal his past to anyone who hadn’t already known, leaving two - at the most three - people in Xavier’s to know his past as a professional thief. Even though he was an X-Man now, he couldn’t help his sticky fingers. Once a thief, always a thief. “...and where I’m from dat makes it mine.”
