Witchy Stitching: 25 Patterns to Haunt Your Home by Meg Black; The Witchy Stitcher
Pub date - 8/12/25
We all know, are married to, have parented, or are ourselves, someone who loves Halloween and keeps it in their heart (and often home decor) all year long.
This book is perfect for that person. It’s also perfect for anyone who loves needlework.
Gorgeous to look through as well as full instructions along with helpful information for creating, and framing, your own cross stitch projects.
Let me expand more on the “gorgeous to look through” - the patterns contained in this book are unique, vibrant, and beautiful. I looked through the book and saw a number of patterns I want to sew
*Dracula’s castle *carnivorous plants *vintage Halloween Ferris wheel *happy owl-o-ween *Victorian haunt *Nevermore
… among others.
The patterns are unique and fun; I was really impressed with the creativity and adored these projects (and this guide). I’ll definitely be getting Witchy Stitching for our bookshelves and this is absolutely a recommendation.
Thank you to Herbert Press and NetGalley for the DRC
Finished him a couple days ago but it’s been a busy week. The eyes and mushrooms spots are glow in the dark. I gave French knots another try and the mushrooms came out fine but the confetti stars next to him I just can’t pin down for some reason.
Creature #5 is finally done. His eyes, ribs, and leg bone are glow in the dark.
Full progress shot of the SAL before I get started on section 2. I think the only change I’ll make to what’s done so far is backstitching the skull in the sirens hand.

made sure to stay up so I could finish the last creature for section 1 of the SAL. I think he might be my favorite one so far. Stars and eyes are glow in the dark floss.
Had a catch up week and I slacked pretty bad. Have 2 more creatures until I’m caught up.
Finished creature #2 yesterday. I fell behind after coming down with Covid last weekend. But his teeth and claws, the bones, and the skull in the moon are all glow in the dark.
