My Yseali project is in a place in Vietnam called Buôn Ma Thout. Buôn Ma Thuột is the capital city of Đắk Lắk Province, in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. Its population is over 420,000. The city is the largest in Vietnam's Central Highlands region, and is famous as the regional "capital of coffee". Started my day meeting at a coffee museum complex with the University’s Director of Business Innovation, Nguyen Van Dat to discuss ideas for expanding his program. He talked about his latest Cassava (the plant) project with the local farmers. This project is changing the world because it is being used to produce biodegradable plastic-like products like straws, plastic grocery bags, etc. The project has expanded to six Asian countries since its inception only a few years ago. The US needs to look into this, if we haven’t already. Then off to the Tay Nguyen University for a meeting with Le Duc Niem, Chancellor; Nguyen Dinh Sy, Deputy head of Dept. Of Science and International Relations; Yen Nguyen, Dean of Faculty of Economics and Ao Xuan Hoa, PhD from Thailand. They briefed me on the history of the university, the current situation and the Chancellor’s vision for it’s future. #TheVC #startupbusiness #entrepreneurship #InnovationHappensHere #profellows #americancouncil #ysealiprogram Special thank you to The Venture Center.
