We were fortunate enough to have been able to spend a week in Cali at the end of March. We are born

and bred East coasters and have never imagined ourselves living on the other side of the US. That was until we visited the beautiful cities of San Diego and Los Angeles (and all the beautiful beach towns in between).

The scenery was the best thing about our trip. Driving up the coast with the beach to our left and the mountains to our right was absolutely amazing. The second best thing about Cali was the food. Literally everything we tried was delicious. The next few posts will highlight our favorite food moments on the west side. 

We stayed in the historic Gaslamp District of downtown San Diego. Don't let the word "historic" fool you. We were surprised at how lively this part of the city was! Tons of bars, restaurants, and pedicabs blasting the latest rap hits. The feel of these streets let us know that it's ok to get the party started... with jello shots. A local recommended The Tin Fish, right near Petco Park. We knew the food would be decent since the place was packed!

We immediately indulged in two types of fish tacos: mahi mahi and swordfish. Both were refreshing. We gobbled down a side of waffle fries (with malt vinegar of course) and rejoiced with vodka filled jello shots! Yum. Try 'em out and be sure to tell 'em who sent you. Cheers!
