A relieved yet broken smile pulls at the blonde’s lips when he says her name.  He knew her.  He knew her.  A hand moves to rest on the glass as she steps forward, eyes scanning him in concern.  She knew he’d heal- from the physical stuff, or at least she prayed that he would.  The mental stuff, whatever HYDRA had managed to do to him over the past three months...that was a lot less certain.  

“You’re safe.  You’re in CIA underground safe-hold in DC.  We’ve been monitoring you for the past 37 hours- had doctors check on you to make sure you’re okay.”  She offers a gentle and pained smile, trying to offer whatever comfort she could.  “What can I do?  What do you need?  T-they want to keep you in here for a little while- just to make sure that you’re alright.  But I’ll be here the whole time....I won’t leave you.  Are you in pain?”  Sharon asked nervously.  “I can get a doctor in here to try to help- anything you need Bucky...I mean it.”

   vacation or no vacation, bucky had found that he absolutely loves to sleep in. well .. the few times his body allows him to do so, anyway -- if he can manage to get those couple of necessary hours of sleep, he’ll be damned if he’ll let some loud, obnoxious alarm wake him up at ungodly hours in the morning. he makes the threat very clear, even if his voice is still lidded with sleep as head buries into the pillow. he doesn’t register that it’s sam’s phone -- more focused on the fact that he’d actually managed to get more sleep than he’d had .. in a while. 

  not until his co-worker speaks up and it’s then that it hits him. the pleasant ache in his bones, the lack of clothes on either person, the fact that yes, he’d actually managed to sleep for once. and the strange look sam throws his way as it hits him as well, bucky figures. as if they both hadn’t absolutely enjoyed it. “ mornin’ . “

      he’s not really paying attention to his surroundings much to notice the familiar figure walk by, head throbbing like crazy, the side of his face probably gone numb at this rate. she finds him sitting on the curb in front of the gas station, the camaro parked not too far away as he nurses a cigarette, almost jumping out of his skin at the press of something ice cold to the side of his face. which feels -- really fucking great, all things considered, but he’s startled enough for shoulders to tense as he turns, rouding up on -- nancy wheeler? of all people ..

steve’s not entirely sure how long she’d been awake for, but it’s more than a pleasant surprise to wake up to such a sight. “ admiring? “ brows go up as he counters, lips curled into a lazy smile. had this been any other girl and this would have shot his ego up and through the roof, but with nancy, it’s -- contained. doesn’t matter as much as it matters that she’s here. fingers graze his cheek and he’s entirely too eager to lean into the touch, before her hand moves to his chest, lingering there for a moment.

Her world was spinning, ears ringing and just the simple movement of rolling onto her back is enough to nearly cause her to get sick.  Brown eyes close, letting herself be swallowed by the cold Russian air.  She waits, letting the snow and wind sting her face before finally, bit by by bit moving herself onto her knees before finally finding the strength to stand.  Her eyes take in the terrain, now barren without the warehouse, scraps of it scattering across the snow- some still burning in flames.  

Slowly a sense of horror begins creeping through her veins and she stumbles forward.  “Bucky?” She croaks, quickly turning her head.  “Bucky?!”  Any sense of pain she once had, every pinch of the cold now gone as she began stumbling forward.  “Bucky?!”  She screams out this time, frantically beginning to search through the rubble.  

It feels like hours until she finally sees a frame of a body- one that wasn’t burned beyond recognition- though was pinned underneath a large frame of metal.  She keeps going, tears freezing to her face.  “Bucky!?”  Finally she gets close enough, a cry leaving her when she sees the brunette.  

She runs to him, dropping to her knees as she moves her hands to cradle his face.  “Bucky...Bucky..”  She cries out again when she realizes he’s alive, brushing his cheeks.  “I’m gonna get you out of here.  Sam has the coordinates.  Help is coming. C’mon...c’mon...”  

Her head turns, Sharon’s face falling as she looks at the metal, crawling to it.  She knew it was no use to even attempt, but she does it regardless, trying to push the piece off of him.  When it doesn’t budge she looks back at him, tears frozen to her cheeks.  “I-It’s alright....is- what’s broken?  Anything?  O-Or are you just stuck?”  She moves back to him, gloved hands coming to cover his face to try and warm him a bit.  “I-It’s okay....it’s okay.”

Sharon wasn't the cuddly, "i'm going to fall asleep in your arms" type, especially after Madripoor, but for the past four months she'd spent almost every night curled up in bed with either Sam or Bucky- some nights even both. It was a habit now. A habit she had no intentions of breaking any time soon.

The agent was curled tightly against Bucky, falling asleep after just minutes of laying down next to him, but a few hours into her slumber she began to stir. Images of bodies, beaten, brutalized, and shot littered the ground. Old co-workers, innocent civilians, children, her father, and the entirety of the Avengers- all scattered. Sharon sat crouched behind a pile of bodies, her hand clutching her lifeless father's, as the Winter Soldier raised Steve by the neck, snapping in within a second before tossing his body right next to Sam's lifeless one. Before Sharon could even stop herself a scream echoed throughout the air, and the assassin spotted her. "No...no please...no!!!" She screamed once again before it was cut off, a metal hand wrapped tightly around her neck. His eyes were dark and empty as he began choking her, Sharon's body flailing and fighting to no avail. Then his knife is raised, held fiercely in the sky before plummeting into her side.

With a loud gasp, Sharon woke up, her eyes wide as she turned her head- only to meet those same blue eyes that were just choking her seconds ago. Those same blue eyes that took away everything she loved. Fear and horror covered her face as she let out a small cry, her feet and hands scrambling to get away from him, screaming when she saw him reach out for her. "No! No! No!"

The realization that the man next to her wasn't the Winter Soldier, but Bucky, came seconds after her outburst. But it was too late. The damage was already done. "B-Bucky," Sharon breathed out, trying to regain her balance before attempting to reach for him. "I'm sorry..I'm sorry. Bucky.."
