Chirp went the blackbird. Chirp went the beast hanging in the branches above. Mimicking and chasing after the winged creature. Trying to get a meal. Black claws tore through the bark, a dark blur among the boughs, the only sliver of color being a bright flash of orange, glowing like headlights, before the creature finally opened its mouth, white fangs exposed, before snapping down around the bird, panicked chirping brought to an end as the figure slid out of the tree, landing heavily on a rock.
He was just trying to find a place to stay for the night, when he was brought out of it by a strange chirping. Birds only sounded that way when they were in some sort of distress, right? A few more moments of walking revealed the source of the noise, and made him wish he'd just stayed on his original path.
Mike clutched his hammer close to his chest, visibly disturbed by the noise, and, well... the visual accompaniment. That... that probably wasn't a walker. But it seemed busy with the bird(the poor thing), so all he had to do was just back away, nice and easy.
Fallen tree branches never seemed to cooperate with stealthy retreats.
