Description
Turchi enjoyed a prestigious career in Rome, where he became head of the Accademia di San Luca in 1637. This painting is characteristic of his historical subjects: monumental figures presented in a frieze and executed with soft, sfumato effects of paint and light.
The Judgement of Paris is a story from Greek mythology, which was one of the events that led up to the Trojan War, and in later versions to the foundation of Rome.
Eris, the goddess of discord, was not invited to the wedding of Peleus and Thetis. In revenge, she brought a golden apple, inscribed, "To the fairest one," which she threw into the wedding. Three guests, Hera, Athena and Aphrodite, after some disputation, agreed to have Paris of Troy choose the fairest one. Paris chose Aphrodite, she having bribed him with the most beautiful mortal woman in the world, Helen of Sparta, wife of Menelaus. Whereupon Paris carried Helen off to Troy, and the Greeks invaded Troy for Helen's return. Eris' Apple of Discord was thus the instrumental casus belli (or her not being invited to the wedding in the first place) of the Trojan War.

Antioch is such a tight ass about his relationships with others like he would never say it out loud … bc it also makes him a bit embarrassed when he has to be like this is my Friend …. Like he kinda feels childish … Best Friend however . I think that title goes to Bull . Because that guys gets in his head like no one’ s business . They have enough similarities to bring them together but are still different enough it’ s not like . Constantly looking into a mirror . Blackwall and Sera are also up there for good friends for Antioch
. Okay if Theris can remember your name off the top of his head that means you are best friends . He called Varric ‘ Bianca ‘ in his head for a long time bc he couldn’ t remember his actual name . He’ s super good at pretending to remember but when you look for it you do Notice who he does and doesn’ t call by name . So , for him , his bffs are Vivienne , Dorian and Josephine … they LOVE 2 gossip it makes them happy .. Cole is also kinda in the list but he doesn’ t know if he should call it a friendship or not just bc

New D&D character: Theris the half-elf Bard I basically let D&D Beyond randomize a character at the last second for me and I jumped into the session 100% improvised and kind of love him, now. Oops xD Tweeked some things after the first session to get his abilities and such more in line with his character but otherwise this guy made himself and it's kind of awesome, I need to do improved characters more often xD
