Tbqh, that is only ONE of the origins of Barbara Gordon (Batgirl). One is that Babs (Batgirl, but Babs is easier) is actually Jim's niece through an older brother, but either the brother and his wife were killed or the wife was killed and the brother went to jail for it. In most cases Babs is Jim Gordon's daughter with Barbara Ellieen, and they also have a son named James Junior. DC is not known with being creative with children's names.Â
So all in all the fandom needs to stop flipping out and find an origin story/universe they like because with DC, I promise you..it exists.Â
To be honest, naming his son James Junior is SUCH a Jim-thing to do and IF Barbara was the mother it would make sense to name the daughter Babs. But with everything thatâs happened on the show I just donât see him being the father anymore. And no, like some people said, Lee will definitely NOT name a kid after her (IF there ever is a kid), that would make even less sense than Jim and Barbara getting together again.
I agree, if the writers want a Batgirl-baby on the show, they will find a way to do it, one that hopefully makes sense and doesnât end with Barbara raping Jim (like Erin once âjokedâ) because that will be the day when Iâll stop watching the show. Been there, done that, never want to see a plotline like that again.
Iâm happy with the way things are at the moment, Iâm happy with Barbara having her own story that doesnât reduce her to one thing, I want Jim and Lee to stay together (and have kids if they absolutely HAVE to) and I donât really care about Batgirl for this show because, well, like we all know, sheâs not what the show is about.
