You can't win if you don't enter.
I have a lot of bad luck in a lot of things. I suffer migraines. I suffer insomnia. I've been a victim of emotional domestic abuse for nearly as long as I've been alive. But I've had a bit of good luck too.
I enter contests and sweepstakes. I take surveys and I test products. Basically, this is your ultimate disclaimer here. Sometimes you're going to find things on here that I got in order to test them. To be true to us all, I'll be completely uncensored. If something's terrible? Baby, you'd better believe I'm going to tell you.
So here's the thing. My sis-in-law tells me that I'm a lucky bitch for winning contests. I tell her "if you don't enter them, how do you expect to win?" I didn't really get started in contests until mid-October, but so far, I've won:
a $5 Pizza Hut Gift Card (I gave it to my mother, who in turn gave it to my sis-in-law)
a $25 Mastercard e-Gift Card (which I've used to buy stocking stuffers!)
a $5 Amazon gift card
a "swag pack" from a Twitter party
various percent off/free shipping coupons
And most recently, a $2500 shopping spree to modewalk.com. Biggest win ever and it stunned the crap out of me. The sad part is, I was only able to use about $200 of it. But that's okay. That's $200 I didn't have and to be honest, the site was very much not for me. It's a couture sort of place, for skinny bitches who like that elaborate sort of expensive. I just...don't. I'm a geek. Now if I'd have won $2500 to spend at like ThinkGeek? You'd better believe the whole thing would have been spent. Probably down to the penny. But I'm just not a model. I don't wear model sizes and though I mean no offense to those that like the site, quite a bit of that stuff was ridiculous - both in style and in price. When all you can find is a few bracelets (which ended up being sold out) and a couple of perfumes, you know a site is not for you. And modewalk was not for me.
But again - if I'd have never put my name in the running, I'd have never won. And I'd have never known.
Now, if I could just win that Bane mask...
