Cue hairs standing up, as she turned around to see the Medium. A kind smile appeared on her lips.
“That’s an odd way o’ getting someone’s attention.”

Of all the places he could be, he never thought he would be back in the tunnels of the Order. He didn’t think anyone from that time would still be fiddling around down here, either. But there she is and there he stood.
He was sure she would look different, would look more like the people slowly coming out of their daze months later. She would look older, perhaps that’s what he was expecting. Dante, of course, has changed the most drastically. Skin clinging to bones, his coat too heavy for him now and even Ebony and Ivory carried a weight along with them. His eyes sunken, cheeks hollow. He looked a mess, and she was a goddess in comparison.
“Why are you here?” His voice is more harsh and hoarse than he anticipated. “Nobody comes down here.”

He didn’t realize he was crying out until Kat sat beside him, trying to calm him before he struck out and hurt himself. More than once has he kicked that wall, and more than once has he nearly broken a bone from it.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” Apologies spilled from his mouth, rapid fire as if he was at fault for what his subconscious had created behind closed eyes. “I didn’t wake you up, did I?”
'All this stress isn’t good for you.’
Her hairs stood up on end, hearing the voice but her brain not processing it for a few seconds. The woman who she met the day before, she’s got to remember the sound.
A soft smile appeared on her lips, as she turned around. Just to make the smile kind. Put on a facade. Don’t make people worry about her.
“I’m sure I’ll be fine in the long run. A bubble bath is most likely the answer.”
