My personal experience really ties into this, I've had a lot of bad experiences (horrible bullying at highschool which my teachers did nothing to fix and I lost my own best friend after she took her life due to depression which at the time really messed me up because I didn’t realise).

I could honestly see though out Lonely Freddy itself, that Alec appeared to be showing some visible depression indications and the fact his actions appeared to be a cry for attention. While I don’t think it was extremely severe, I likely think if he was stuck as a Lonely Freddy for sometime with no end in sight that he would have become severely depressed, as he was forced to keep waking up and seeing his “consequences” staring back at him, in some parts, he justifies he deserved this for what happened.

With the recent events in the story, with Alec sneaking home and seeing his family is perfect, this just breaks him a lot more, because he feels like he has confirmed he was a problem, he was the one who stopped his family from being happy, but at the same time he's also angry that no one realises what has happened and it makes him feel worthless if his own family doesn’t miss the real him.
