“Feather” By: TheOneEyedQueen To: NotSoSaintReigner
I was walking alone in the dark of night
Alone for I had no one
Crickets were singing in harmony
Trees were dancing with the wind
When an odd blistering object fell from the heavens
I could not describe it at first
Until the light from the waning moon touched it
Only then I realized it was a man
Wearing an armour unlike any other
It was made of gold It was obviously old
I see it had served countless battles
But I was surprised when two colossal wings
Emerged from his back
He was struggling from intolerable pain
He screamed a song of agony
Then I noticed His left wing was severely injured
There was a huge wound
Silver liquid flowing from it
“Please help me!” he cried
His hopes were slowly fading
I ran as fast as I could
My heart was beating so hard
Sweat came pouring down my pale face
But it was too late
He collapsed and hit the cold ground
I do not know what should be done that time
I only shook his broad shoulders
“Wake up! Wake up!”
There were tears rolling down his cheeks
Then he suddenly got conscious
And there was something magical about it
His eyes are the rarest pair of jewels I have ever seen
They were like the universe filled with galaxies
And at that very moment I felt like I traveled through the stars
It felt like time stopped from consuming all reality
“Where Am I?” he roughly asked
Breaking the resounding silence
But he passed out again
And this time I had to do something
It was difficult but I managed to bring him home
He had fevers beyond imagination
Fluctuating pulse rates
Temperatures as high as the sky
So I had no choice but to take care of him
He was asleep for thousands of years
And I was beginning to lose hope
But I had to believe that I would see those again
The boundless prospects in his very eyes
Yes! I was right
That it takes a leap of faith
To break through the impossible
He opened his eyes for the second time
And those crystals pierced through my soul
“Thank you.” The only words he uttered
But it sounded to me like it was a song
And melodies were embracing my heart
Symphonies carried me to the clouds
And that ignited our friendship
We became best friends
One of the best things that ever happened to me
We played together
We sang together
And we laughed together
He used to fly me to the headwinds
To show me the beauty of this world
And there he told me “I will never leave you.”
“I will protect you.”
“I will always love you.”
“No one can replace you.”
But one day, he disappeared
My heart was pounding very hard
My lungs were gasping for air
As I travel different worlds to find him
But there was no trace of his whereabouts
Since that day I felt so empty on the inside
I am going to be alone again
I miss him so much
The sound of his voice
When he talks to me
The look in his eyes
When he stares at me
The touch of his hands
When he hugs all of me
The unique curve of his lips
When he is happy
I miss every part of him
I cried every day and night
I prayed for him to come back
And I grew fonder and fonder
Waiting at the place where we first met
But he never came
Years went on I have become so ancient
Still I could not move on
From all those broken words
Promises that were burned to ashes
Dreams that turned to dust
But I wish for a chance
Before I go to a lasting sleep
That one day
The man from the sky
A beautiful angel
A creature beyond time and space
Will visit me and give his final shot
Instead of flowers
He will throw a part of him
A piece of his majestic wing
That at the very least
As I descend six feet below
I will have his last goodbye
A symbol of his love
His great white
Feather
