Tess was lost. She didn’t like to admit it, but she had to; she’d been walking aimlessly for over an hour, the houses around her looking all the same and the sky over her now completely dark. She’d only been in town for a few days, and she clearly should have wandered around without paying attention to where she’d been going. When she saw someone walk up ahead, she swallowed her pride and hurried over. “Excuse me,” she called out to the stranger. 

            The second she ended the phone call with her brother, she knew that she had to have a talk with Hope. Rebekah could sense the girl listening in, and she could tell that lies would not help her. Rebekah decided it's time to let her know the truth about her mother and father. She was old enough now, and besides Hope knew how to take care of herself.           Knocking gently on her niece's door, the blonde peeked her head in and said, "Can I come in? We need to talk about something. Something important." A small smile on her lips, yet she braced herself for her niece's reaction from what she was about to tell her.
