NEW YORK - The Mark and The Met: A Perfect PairingIt was a gorgeous Sunday, late morning, when I arrived at 77th and Madison to join a group of friends for Brunch at The Mark Restaurant by Jean-Georges located in The Mark Hotel. After Brunch we were off to see the latest exhibit at The Metropolitan Museum called Sleep Beauties: Reawakening Fashion. But more about that later. First let’s eat!! Approaching the entrance to see the Sleep Beauties: Reawakening Fashion exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. All are visually connected through themes of nature, which also serve as a metaphor for the transience of fashion.Visitors can sense the aromatic histories of hats with floral motifs and experience butterflies in fashion crafted from feathers. The collection also includes a series of “sleeping beautifies” garments that can no longer be dressed on mannequins due to their fragility!However, rather than describe each exhibit, here are some exciting pieces from the collection.
