This is the first post on the blog for The Lookdown Retreat, sustainable farming project. While we have been working away slowly at development of the farm since its purchase in 2012, only the last 2-3 months have we been seriously focussed. We have 3 key milestones for the next 12 months: 1. Build adequate storage for plant & equipment 2. Build confortable accomodation for 2-3 night stayover 3. Repair all external and internal fences for livestock My training in accounting doesn't do me much good on The Lookdown! So I have been reading and talking with people that know what they are doing. I'm also rolling up my sleves and having to work things out by trial and error. These first couple of posts will be a bit of catch up on where we are at with the project and how we got here.
