Do you think sneasel would be (or should be) commonly kept by evil teams such as team rocket and team skull due to their reputation as egg thieves (at least the johtonian ones. I have no clue if hisuian sneasels steal and eat eggs like their ice counterparts do (not that that matters much because they're probably extinct in the modern pokemon world))

That's interesting! Let's clarify some things. First, I believe a entry with Hisuian Snealer mentions poison/venom that can paralyze it's prey? So we believe Hisuan Snealser does at the least eat prey. Says nothing about eggs though. So we assume it may just eat prey..? But up to interpretation, and yes. they're all dead :p
i dont know about should and would. perhaps. the thing is, looking at some of the routes/places they're found in like mt silver, i would assume they're in hard places to reach? then there's the whole issue of "they eat eggs". i don't know what context they're going out to steal eggs, but. i guess there's always like a chance that they may just "hey did you get the eggs OH NO NO NO STOP EATING THEM" and like obedience may be ??? cause no gym badges i guess so its. its a interesting topic, but i view it as
