It really is. I mean, I know English students aren’t the ones to find cures for diseases or build cities or solve global warming, but it’s a form of art and a huge part of our culture. Besides, literary magazines/journals are spiking in popularity and people are consuming so much literature nowadays thanks to new technology, so it’s not like they’re prepping us for an unfulfilling life of poverty. But, above all, this is what so many people love to do. And they’re just discouraging hundreds and hundreds of students from being passionate. I really don’t see how letting go of incredible, inspiring instructors will better the whole university.
