OMG YAY! Now I hope we get to see Tali and Donnie meet for the first time :)
Thank you for asking the question! They will definitely meet in person, in due time. :)

This is really cute! Hahah âGo for the optics, Chatika!â What do you think Donnie would name his drone? Heâs such a nerd, heâd probably go for Tesla or something like that.
Yes. Yes, he would. I imagine it is Nikola the drone, yes.

Omg this is wonderful! I canât wait for the turts and the Normandy crew to meet. I love this crossover so much!
<3 Thank you!
They will meet and I will be revising the ME3 endgame yet again. :)

I'm re-reading the Sewers to Stars series (I love it so much), and there's a line in Hero's Homecoming where Donnie tells Shepard to pass his contact info on to her "quarian AI expert". My question is--does she? Were Tali and Donnie in contact for the 2 year gap between ME1 and ME2? (because that would be awesome) And if they were, will we see it ever discussed or referenced in fic?
This is such a great ask!
Because, you know, Iâd almost forgotten that line, and Iâd sort of assumed there wasnât much contact between the Normandy crew and the TMNT gang before ME3, but then I reconsidered and realized how much better it would be if there was some contact.

In the first week of February, Donatello gets an unexpected message.
He gets quite a few messages, actually, more than you might expect for a person who isnât supposed to exist. There are still plenty of extranet venues where no one really cares about what you look like, though, so when he has time, Donnie participates in a handful of message lists about tech and genetics and engineering. Heâs built up a reputation in a few of them, and has a handful of regular contacts. Sure, he needs to lie about who he is and how he spends his time (most of them think heâs an engineer or a geneticist, physicist, or marine biologist), and he lies about where heâs located just to be careful. He gets occasional messages, too, from a handful of people who actually know him in personâApril and Casey will usually talk in person, but there are other occasional correspondents like Irma, or Donnieâs turian friend Flaviaâmost of those only send him something every few months, but nearly all of them have checked in since Shepard died.
New correspondents, though, those are rare, so when he gets a message from an unfamiliar address, he opens it meaning only to glance it over before deleting it. Even mutant turtles get spam.
But the message stops him in place, because it says:
Helloâ I hope I have the right address. Commander Shepard gave it to me. She said you were an old friend of hers interested in talking about AI tech. Since you were her friend, I would also like to say I am sorry. Shepard was a dear friend to me, and I will miss her greatly.
TaliâZorah vas Neema
Itâs a quarian name. Shepardâs quarian crew member. Expert in AI systems and ship engines, and a wizard with her omni-tool. Donnie remembers Shepard talking about her, her eyes softening with a distant fondness. It doesnât take him long to send a reply.
Hey! Yes, youâve got the right person. Thanks. Weâre all missing her around here, too, so I know what you mean. Shepard had spoken highly of you. I hope youâre holding up all right? Vas Neema is a new name, isnât it?
He doesnât get a reply for a few days, and he almost puts the message out of his mind. Maybe sheâll write back, maybe she wonât. She probably has other things to do than write messages to a stranger.
He does get a reply a few days later, though:
Shepard spoke of me? I hadnât expected that. But yes, Iâm well, thank you for asking. It was a long trip back to the Migrant Fleet, and the Neema is my new ship. Itâs a bit of a process to join a new crew, but I wonât bore you with the details. Iâm here now, itâs just been an adjustment. There are a lot of new responsibilities with being a fully adult crew member! But Shepard said you were interested in AI. Was there anything in particular you wanted to know? Itâs a very dangerous line of research, of course, but itâs been a bit of a specialty of mine.
Donnie casts an eye at Metalhead in the corner, quietly running projections based on the data Shepard had collected about the Reapers. Thereâs no way heâs going to confess to having developed an actual functioning AI in a fit of youthful hubris, nor to having repaired and refurbished said AI in another fit of somewhat less youthful stubbornness. Never mind that Metalhead is a perfectly sane AI unlikely to go off on a murder spree; thatâs the sort of thing that gets a person in serious trouble.
Yes, I work with complex VI systems, he writes, so Iâm interested in safety protocols and how far that complexity can develop before you run the risk of generating a true AI. Iâve always found the quarian experiments with geth interesting in that respect. Congratulations on the new post, by the way; it doesnât sound boring at all.
Another few days pass before she replies. She apologizes for the delay, explaining that sheâs been adjusting to the schedule on her new ship and her new duties. She then gets into a discussion of AI development that starts out full of cautions before she loosens up and really starts going into detail. Itâs sufficiently absorbing that Donnie doesnât even notice April coming into the room until sheâs leaning over his shoulder, her warm, fragrant hair brushing against his neck. âWhatâs this?â she says.
âSorry, I didnât hear you come in,â Donnie says.
April leans over, peering at the screen. âAI tech?â
âYeah, itâs, um. Itâs Tali, from Shepardâs crew. She wrote me a message a couple of weeks ago. I guess Shepard did pass on my contact info.â
âOh.â April puts a hand on his shoulder, and theyâre both silent for a moment. Then April says, âI saw her at the memorial. She seemed pretty upset.â
âYeah, I think Shepard was really important to her,â Donnie says. âBut sheâs been really busy since she got back to her people. Sounds like sheâs taken on a lot of responsibilities. You, umââ He twists a little so he can see Aprilâs face. âYou donât mind, right?â
âWhy would I mind?â April asks. âThis AI stuff is really fascinating.â
His brothers mind, a few months later, when Donnie finally finishes putting together a combat drone, loads up some automatic protocols, and lets it drift around the lair. Itâs all non-lethal shocks, of course, and it is totally not Donnieâs fault that Raph finds it necessary to threaten the rest of them so often and therefore gets zapped more than the rest of them put together.
Heâs genuinely sorry that Mikey is convinced the drone is going for his eyes, though.
âItâs just an experiment,â Donnie protests when an irritated Leonardo stalks into the lab. âA lot of armed forces use combat drones, so I thought it would be worth playing with.â
Leo has that skeptical narrow-eyed look. âDo you really want to be trying to manage one of these in a fight?â
âThatâs why I have it running on an automatic program. I donât have to micromanage it.â Donnie tries for a smile. âIâm, ah, sorry about the shocks, though. I can reprogram it.â
Heâs bracing for another round of Leoâs periodic opposition to anything more modern than pieces of steel and wood, but Leo says thoughtfully, âYou might be right that itâs worth a try. Why donât you reprogram it and then we can spar with it.â He smiles. âYou and the drone against the rest of us.â
Donnie groans. He should have seen this coming. âYouâre a sadist.â
âItâs a good training opportunity,â Leo says, cheerful now.
âItâll take me a few days to set up a new program,â Donnie hedges. It wonât actually take him that long, but in a few days, Raph will have cooled off. Mostly.
âLet me know when youâve got it ready,â Leo says, turning to leave, and then hesitates. âYou got this drone stuff from your quarian friend, right?â
âYeah,â Donnie says. âI canât say too much about the AI stuff, obviously, and sheâs been a little cagey about her research, too.â Taliâs messages are getting further apart, and in fact he hasnât heard from her for almost three weeks, this time. It sounds like sheâs been detailed on various trips away from the quarian fleet that she doesnât talk too much about.â
Leo nods. âYou havenât told her... um...â
Donnie rolls his eyes. âGive me some credit, Leo. Of course I havenât told her much. She thinks I worked with Shepard on her early missions and retired from the Alliance a few years ago. She also thinks Iâm human, because what else would she think?â
âRight.â Leo has the grace to look a little abashed. âSorry. I justââ
âI know,â Donnie says.
It hadnât even come up until they were well into their correspondence. Tali had said, one day a month or two in: Shepard hardly told me anything about you. Donnie had thought about ignoring the implicit question, but heâd broken out some lies and half-truths instead. Thereâs absolutely no reason for Tali to suspect anything like the truth, and itâs clear Shepard hadnât let anything slip to her, either. Itâs the same old story as always, sticking to the shadows. Their friends come to them either carefully hand-picked, or by accident. Taliâs one of the former, sort of, but thereâs no real need to tell her the whole truth. She knows who Donnie is, but not what he is.
âI did mention I live with my brothers,â he says, trying to be conscientious about Leoâs security worries. âShe just said that sounded nice. Sheâs an only child. I think we could trust her if we had to, but Iâm being careful.â
Leo nods, looking relieved. âOkay. Thanks.â
The smell of popcorn wafts through the lair, and Mikey sticks his head in the door a moment later. âDudes. Did you forget movie night?â
âSorry about the drone, Mikey,â Donnie says, getting off his stool.
Mikey shrugs. âNah, itâs okay bro, just... donât let it go for the eyes, okay?â
âOkay.â Donnie bites back a smile. He might have to tweak Taliâs programs a bit.
oooh if you're still doing lenormand readings, can I get some advice on how to proceed with this new novel I just started plotting?
Okie dokie artichokie
So you've got the snake, the fish, and the fox. And Iâm kinda confuzzled with it? Iâm getting the feeling of a plot point? Like a rich man, a not so rich woman, both being involved with embezzlement at work. Heâs using her as the scapegoat when they caught. So idk if that means anything to you? And redrawing gave me pretty much the same idea...just adding a bit of romance. So maybe thatâs a direction to go?
for that tarot meme thing: sun + death + hierophant
Sun: Happiest Memory
Walking home after seeing Goblet of Fire with two of my best friends at the time. I'm pretty sure we went to the midnight showing for it, and the movie theater isn't very far away from my house. So we're walking back, and Nikki and I are singing something obnoxiously loud and Tessa is just walking ahead of us pretending she's not with us. And it was just awesome and hilarious. I think that's the same weekend we had a shouting match in my kitchen using fake British accents.
Death: Someone you miss
I miss my Mommom. Not a day goes by that I don't wish she was still here.Â
Hierophant: Something you believe in
I believe in the power of the universe and that everything happens for a reason and we can learn and grow from every experience. Even if we can't see the lesson or reason while it's happening.Â

Feb5: What inner qualities do I need to express more? - Queen of Pentacles reversed
I need to allow myself to be more independent. Take accountability for my actions. I should also lower expectations of others. I tend to be a person who tries to make other people happy which doesn't make me happy. I also need to be able to reward myself more often, instead of punishing myself for not "deserving" it.
