The only men I need in my life are DJs, and last night I was reunited with one of my main squeezes, Gareth Emery alongside Benny Benassi and Swanky Tunes. I had a pretty good fucking night to say the least - I mean dancing till 6:30am with about 4000 of your closest friends amid a showering of confetti sounds pretty good.
To sum it up, props to Swanky Tunes for having a raging opening set but I mean, everything sounds raging when you bust out all the big room tunes. Benassi absolutely destroyed the main room, completely under-estimated this man. One of my favourite sets I've seen, pumping out pure house old-school Benassi and dropping a little dubstep at the end didn't hurt. I had high expectations for Gareth Emery - he was one of my favourite shows last year but wasn't feeling his set last night - usually he mixes just the right amount of electro in his trance sets but there was little to no trance last night (with the exception of Concrete Angel and Sanctuary). It was a fun set, no doubt but I wish I heard a little more trance from him.
However, he did drop Myon & Shane 54's mashup On a Metropolis Day which is always a favourite of mine
