He's been tickling the ivories at The Golden Bee since 1984. Besides great food, atmosphere and beverages of all kinds to wet your whistle, they've got some wonderful traditions at this English pub. For one, there's the nightly piano playing and singing along. And, believe me, Bud can sure play. We struck up an almost immediate rapport and he was filling song requests faster than I could ask. It was as if he were reading my mind. Second, there's the "bee throwing." (You read that right.) Everyone who walks in gets a small, harmless, self-adhesive bee applique tossed at them by the wait staff. They are adept at their bee chucking. My bee landed squarely on my coat's lapel. They are attractive, little fashion accessories. The more bees, the better. I consider bees to be good luck. My Italian grandmother kept bees. By the end of my meal and refreshments, I'd scored big time. Not only did I receive loads of bees to throw (or wear) as I saw fit, Bud gave me a souvenir Golden Bee Sing-A-Long Song Book because I had such a great time β and I truly did.
