I LOVE THESE SOLAR PANELS because they represent a small taste of the future. How soon do you think the average american will be exploring and camping with new or used electric truck or suv? And will you be an early adopter? Ever since I made the camper electrically independent from the truck using solar panels, I’ve been semi-obsessed with the possibilities. This spawned many campfire conversations with friends with various outdoor interests and budgets. Some are futurists that discuss all of the fantastic possibilities and others are naysayers that bring up infrastructure, politics, cost, limited range, and volumes of adoption to support growth. I’m personally excited for the possibility of greener camping and roadtrip vehicles and would consider being an early adopter the moment a affordable option is available. (And don’t start on EV economics) Unfortunately there is one thing that makes me just a little hesitant. I am the worst when it comes to randomly wandering and changing plans mid trip...or having no plan at all which is pretty much my MO. This is almost a fatal flaw for me. A 30 minuite super charge isn’t really a big deal, but actually planning my trip around chargers could be. Maybe the solution is extended range hybrids? Or a Honda generator in the back? Expanding awning of solar panels for our California sunshine? How soon do you think we will be exploring in electric vehicles?
