i think the most interesting thing about spec ops, besides the story, is the fact that the cut scenes manage to look WORSE than the gameplay
Did you play on PC? That might be why. When I played on a low-end PC, the cutscenes looked better than the gameplay, but when I played on a remotely decent PC, the gameplay looked way better. That's the danger of prerendering!

No consoles, just a ~4-year-old laptop that I'm quite honestly surprised can even keep up with doing music.

Oh yeah the project made me really really interested in playing through it, I probably would have by now if I had a decent computer that could run any game that's not Grief Syndrome :P
