There’s a cringe at the voice, discomfort from having to listen to it pour out of her friend’s body. “I…” She balls her fists, whipping her head to face the mask. “I wasn’t oblivious! She just wanted Mia to find happiness, to not have to think about the darkness inhabiting her body. She had figured if she offered unconditional love friendship it would be okay. She’d wait until Mia was ready to open up to her. Ha, like that did Mia any good. All she could do now was watch as Mia suffered under Yingzi’s influence. Maybe… maybe she wasn’t that good of a friend after all. It was her duty to fight and defeat evil and she had failed. She had failed Mia. Her face falls.
