God, being called uncle made him feel old. He didnāt spend much time with his relatives so he never had any kids around him getting older and show the passage of time, now his sisterās stepson was in college. Smiling Joseph looked him over trying to remind himself he was his nephew and far too young to even consider. āGood. Not used to company though, I thought you were a Victorian ghost with that look.ā Ever the bachelor his guest room had dust more often than it did inhabitants and heād half forgotten he promised to have Steve there over the holidays before he picked him up. Sitting up better to hide whatever excitement he had he figured he should get to know Steve better, āAnd you? Your room alright?ā
āOh god, Iām not that spindly pale am I? I mean, Victorian ghost is probably my next Halloween outfit but I hope Iām at least a little less⦠dead looking,ā Steve exclaimed through the biggest laugh, his eyes twinkling as he looked to Joseph. It had taken him a while to get used to his step-mother, after his parents' divorc,e it was just a hard thing to adjust to, but he had liked Joseph since the minute he met the older man. He had fun whenever they hung out, he felt free around him and it didnāt hurt that, far as Steve was concerned, Joseph was a total Daddy. āYeah, my room was great. Comfy bed, slept like a dream⦠honestly, way comfier than the one they have at the dormā he admitted, his fingers casually playing with the bottom of his oversized shirt. He stepped in just a little, gently rocking a little on his feet āDoesnāt seem like anyoneās been in there in a while though, guessing Iām the first guest youāve had in a while, right?ā he asked, reaching up to innocently scratch at his chest which caused the front of his shirt to pull down, showing off the definition in his upper body while he did it. āI really canāt thank you enough for letting me stay, I swear Iām gonna have to find some way to properly thank you for being so cool Uncle J⦠I mean, youāve always been cool but this is really next levelā
