I visited @thefamousflames in Camden today. A new Retro/Soul music themed burger and chicken place, from the family of @staxdiner and @boondocksldn. This place is definitely more focused on chicken, offering 1 cheeseburger with an option to add maple beef bacon, but you've got a choice of 4 chicken burgers, wings done 6 ways, chicken tenders, and chicken and waffles. Camden Town is full of great places  to eat, but literally a stones throw away from the station you'll find a quirky new poultry palace called The Famous Flames.  Banging out loud 70's disco, James Brown serenades the wood panelled space covered in colourful retro posters.  Different guitars and musical light fixtures hang from the walls and ceiling like percussion symbol and drum chandeliers.  Their specialty is fried buttermilk chicken.  It's really good, well seasoned and the coating has a perfectly crispy, fluffy crunch.  You can get sandwiches from a mild buffalo to a hotter honey habanero and for the really brave, the Nashville hot one with cayenne pepper, brown sugar and garlic.  They serve tenders with the creamiest blue cheese dipping sauce.  Waffle fries and bold purple apple poppy seed slaw.  The best thing on the menu were the wings.  Tossed in sauces like the Saigon caramel (fish sauce, fried garlic and chilli oil) and general Tso's (soy, sesame and red chilli).  I loved their garlic Parmesan ones best of all.  There's no way you can eat all this neatly, be prepared with A LOT of napkins.  Great food in a hot new venue.
