Do you think he CARES? Do you think he cares for this bravado? No, he does not, the Shape does not CARE for much of anything. The halligan swings, aiming at the other's SKULL to inflict as much PAIN as he can. He wants the other to scream, much as everyone else does and he'll get it. One way or another.
Many people say they aren't scared, then they realize that he isn't stopping, that he DOESN'T stop, and then they quake. They shiver, they beg, and they scurry off like PREY.
