You’re absolutely right, and this easily gets lost in the glib tone of a meme format, but honestly??? In all earnestness it fascinates me and means a lot to me, and it adds a lot of cultural and emotional depth to what would otherwise look like your run-of-the-mill ruthless warrior culture

I mean just imagine the start of it? The first Mandalorian/s to realize ‘wow this is just a little kid, they have no fault in this but if they’re left here they’ll die, and there’s no one else left to do something about it’ - I mean I’m sure it connects to their code of honor somehow, but there’s so much heart in that simple resolution to step up. to assume the responsibility. all because the alternative is not an option, morally speaking. They didn’t have to care, but they chose to anyway.

and then of course, it becomes a self-perpetuating cycle, as foundlings grow up but warfare doesn’t stop, so there will always be orphans left behind, who are then picked up and cared for by these warriors of Mandalore who were once in the very same position - very soft, very good, filled to the brim with potential (both comedic and not)
