Highschool!AU: Our characters attend high school together and hate each other. They avoid each other at all costs until they end up in detention together or are forced to work on a project together. They begin to become friends although neither of them will admit it.
Felix walked down the halls of the school, keeping his hood up and ignoring basically everyone, as usual. As he looked up, he saw Adriana and his eyes narrowed. Normally he didn't necessarily hate anyone. Yes, ninety-nine percent of the school's population annoyed the shit out of him, but he didn't have the energy to hate them. This girl was the exception.
He stepped past her and went into the classroom, immediately sinking into his seat by the window. When the bell rang and all the students, including Adriana, unfortunately, the teacher began class. She announced that the class would have to get into pairs and do a project. The second people started calling out to each other to be partners, she said that she would be choosing the pairs, emitting a groan from the class.
As she called out who would be paired with who, Felix tuned out until he heard his name. "And you'll be paired with... Adriana." He snapped up to look at the teacher, an instinctive glare on his face as he looked at his partner. Shit.

Utter shock filled her eyes as Adriana neared her, dagger in hand. Hazel eyes widened even more than they already were. There was no escaping this moment — as much as she wanted to dart away, she knew this had to be done.
Wendy knew that girl from England died a long time ago. Her sanity was now gone completely, and the hallucinations were only growing worse by the day. Tears filled her eyes as the other girl was face-to-face with her.
Soon, Wendy.
Then it’ll all be over.
A choked sob escaped her lips. She knew that this had to be done, and she couldn’t seem to think of a better person to do than Adriana. Her own savior, her best friend, her sister. She was merely putting her out of her misery.
Suddenly, the sharp instrument was plunged into her — slowly and painfully. Through her parted lips rang a loud gasp. A single tear fell from her left eye, emerald orbs slowly blinking shut as she felt the darkness come for her. “Thank you,” she softly whispered, finally free from the nightmare.
"Wendy!" Adriana gently shook the girl, hoping to keep her awake. "No no no, don't you dare die on me." Her voice frantic, broken. "You're my best friend. Please don't leave me here alone." The tears blurred her vision and she squeezed them shut to keep them from falling. "What am I going to tell John and Michael when I escape? They need you. I need you." She opened her eyes to see that it was too late. Wendy Darling, her only friend, was gone forever.
