Artemis tossed the file on her desk in her apartment and grabbed a wine bottle and a glass, heading outside to the balcony overlooking a park. Another day, another job. It was starting to get boring, actually. She was now contracted to a mob in Russia and they wanted her to eliminate some rival mobs in London so they could establish a base there. It wasn't too hard to say yes - she had worked with them before and they didn't much care how she did it, just that it got done. Plus they were quite generous.

After the third glass of wine and a bit of lounging in her chair, it dawned on her that it could be fun. Why did she have to go at it alone, anyway? Artemis pulled out her phone and scrolled through her contact list. Most of the people on there were fellow assassins.

Oh, that's why. Assassins rarely teamed up because it usually ended up with one backstabbing the others and getting the whole pot. Or they ended up killing each other and the employer profited with a job done for free.

For fuck's sake. None of you guys are any - wait. She almost forgot about him, having named him "Knife Nut", which sounded like an assassin's nickname. There was a chance that he might join in just for the opportunity to murder people. Artemis smirked and typed out a message on her phone to him. She wasn't too sure she could talk to him properly in the buzzed state she was in.
