Just popping in to say I regularly reread this story; I love love love it so much. In particular how individual and developed each clan’s culture and identity is. And how much Thunderclan slowly warms up to Firepaw over time. Though nothing will beat rereading chapters 24-26 of “A Kindling” again (and again, and again). Charred Legacy is my fav book (out of the first three books) but that section with Bluestar and Firepaw lives rent-free in my brain. So many good sections in all three books (and looking forward to reading the forth soon!). Gave a shot at drawing each of the clans based of their apperance descriptors were. Not perfect by any means but I hope its a bit of fun ~<3. I will say trying to make Windclan the “ugliest” clan when Shadowclan exists in all its tiny scrawny glory was hilarious and we vibe with cute gremlin Shadowclan here.

This has been asked before, but it was for chapters, not moments, so I'll answer with the moments.

AK had, of course, the standoff between Lionface and Firepaw, though I also really like Firepaw almost arguing with Yellowfang about Spottedleaf and catching himself getting angry. I don't remember a whole lot about that book, though, so I'm probably forgetting something huge in there.

BH's entire final stretch, from the battle to the epilogue, is my absolute favorite part of that entire book, which may not be fair because that's, what, four chapters long? Though that book's got a lot of great moments I love, like Fireheart's conversation with Oakclaw or Rosy giving Cloudy over to ThunderClan. It's a good one all around.

CL... man, I really do love CL. I don't know if I can pick an absolute favorite moment. The parts I most enjoyed writing were the Silent Hill dog moment that everyone made fanart of, Fireheart's argument with Darkstripe, and Firestar's leadership ceremony and dream. But that's to assume that I don't love thirty or fifty other moments so much in that book that I'm not mentioning here.

If Leaf is also in the Red Sun Rising book and joins with Squirrel, I do think the Oracle would be a good fit. The clans are a little touchy about having outsiders as Seers, so whoever Leaf is (assuming she isn’t a thunderclan-born cat) would either need to either have their skills very obvious or starclan themselves sends a sign to the other seers approving her. Big thumbs up from Rokhar in a dream or something IDK lol. The Oracle already having a connection to the unseen world would be a good step in that direction.

Leaf would also make sense to be from another group again (so not the oracle) for diversity if you still decide to have holly, jay, and lion be her kids (maybe not all of them, maybe just some? Who knows!). Plus, as Seers can’t have kids in the clan, that would give time for her to have kids before joining the clans (and then could become a Seer later on like other Seers have already been mentioned too). I think you mentioned Squirrel and Bramble being a #healthier-couple this time around though, so maybe the three will just be their kids lol. Either way, I could see future Squirrel and Bramble + crew encounter Leaf on their journey to or from the sundrowned place (Leaf replacing purdy). I don’t think she’d be iterum tribe of rushing water, but maybe? Who knows not me hehehehe

IF Leaf is a clan-born cat (I don’t think likely for genetic diversity, but maybe?) I could see her being the sole cub of one of the she-cats who hasn’t had a cub yet. Who would work for that? IDK I still don’t know about cat genetics, and I can’t remember who hasn’t had cubs yet. I think most of the older warriors who are left have all had kids. Thoughts for minds greater than mine. But I do love the idea of a clan born-Leaf being friends with the not-clan born Squirrel, their different personalities coming from their different backgrounds. NOW YOUR PLANT FACT ABOUT LEAF “If you don’t trim a bay leaf before putting it into a cooking recipe, you will definitely notice it’s there, because the edges are incredibly sharp and you will get hurt eating it!” Makes me think a few possiblities:

Leaf is later on in the series, shoehorning her in with Squirrel in this book was too much for significant gain

Leaf is in Blood and is hence sharp (or is some other spicy character), and needs to change personality over time before she becomes the Leaf we recognise in Thunderclan

She is in this book, but is a minimal presence, and will not feature until a future book. It’s all about the set up after all hehe

So basically everything is possible AND I AM READY FOR IT

I love these rambles, but I hate that I can’t respond to them with answers. I will say again that we will cover what’s going on with Squirrel and (whoever Leafpool is/will be) in the future. I’m thinking once Squirrel makes her appearance, which will take a little while, but that’s a good enough spot. I’m interested to see how you all react to that coming information - the patrons seemed rather keen on the idea.
