A week ago, I saw THE CONJURING: THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT with my brother. After the Warrens help a family facing demonic possession, a young man takes on the demon and murders his landlord because of the possession. Wanting to help the young man, the Warrens begin an investigation to prove to the courts that the murder was due to demonic possession. Although the acting is great (especially Vera Farmiga), the movie didn’t quite hit all the notes for me. It might be because of the contrast of the grounded-in-reality legal case and the jump-scare supernatural horror tropes pulled from the previous movies didn’t mesh well. From a legal point of view, the actual historical case is fascinating — and a part of me longed to see a version that explored the ramifications of such a case with a more subtle is-it-or-is-it-not real take on the supernatural. Still, not a bad movie, really, just not for me. #horror #horrorfan #horrorlover #theconjuring #theconjuring3 #thedevilmademedoit #horrormovies https://www.instagram.com/p/CRQSQ8DFCIe/?utm_medium=tumblr
