Num primeiro momento, você deve estar pensando que já viu essa história antes. Um grupo de crianças, uma cidade pequena e estranhos assassinatos, mas, não se engane, a narrativa vai além. Isso porque são apenas referências a obra de Stephen King, denominada como “It: a coisa” . Essa alternância de períodos se mostra bem realizada pelos elementos que a autora traz desde o começo do livro. Quando a história se passa em 1986, é perceptível que a falta de tecnologias utilizadas da época dificultou a obtenção de respostas aos acontecimentos inquietantes. E, além disso, a escassez de internet fez com que as brincadeiras dos amigos fossem totalmente diferentes das dos dias atuais. Durante este período, de 1986 a 2016, Eddie e seus amigos se esforçam para superar o passado. Entretanto, num certo dia, no presente, eles recebem um aviso: o desenho de um homem de giz enforcado. At first, you might be thinking that you've seen this story before. A group of children, a small town and strange murders, but make no mistake, the narrative goes further. That's because they are just references to Stephen King's work, called "It". This alternation of periods is well realized by the elements that the author brings since the beginning of the book. When the story takes place in 1986, it is noticeable that the lack of technologies used at the time made it difficult to obtain answers to the disturbing events. Book 59 of 2019. This right here, is one of the best thrillers I've read in a long, long time. I feel really silly for not getting to this book sooner, I was seeing it all over IG, GoodReads and even Amazon kept recommending this book to me! But better now than never. #thechalkman is split between 1986 and 2016 and focusses on a group of friends who were made infamous when they discovered a dismembered body in their childhood, led to it by a series of chalk drawings. Now, all grown up, they think it's all behind them but the drawings are back and so is the killer. I loved the time I spent with this book. Ididn't want to step away from it. loved it not just as a pacy thriller but just a story, as a book about friendships, childhood, navigating adolescence and something sinister.
