Update ✨✨
Hello, we hope that you're all doing well. :-) We have an update regarding this blog, and more importantly, regarding the story that we use this blog to narrate.
"The Bootleg Parable" narrative is going to be put on hold. We can't say with confidence that we want to entirely discontinue it, seeing as we're too attached to the story and its characters to put the project on a permanent shelf. However, over the years- even before we began this story- our author has felt a massive dwindling in his writing ability, and without the motivation to develop long chapters that vanish into the archive, he has decided to push writing aside for now.
Of course, this blog isn't going anywhere, and we're certain that shenanigans will continue with the characters in the form of illustrations and doodles until we have regain the certainty that the story will go on.
In the meantime, have a few drawings. <3

clue number one
Teller wasn't one to go missing from work like that. He was always on time. He was always there. Maybe a little too dedicated to his craft, but you couldn't fault a man for working hard. Even if User had walked into Teller's office without the old man immediately present, he always knew that his friend would be somewhere nearby. Anywhere. . .
But this time was different.
Teller's door was unlocked, but he wasn't inside. The lights were off. His desk was cluttered with scattered, unfinished paperwork. But worst of all: there was absolutely no sign of him. He wasn't in the halls. He wasn't in any of the conference rooms. Not even by the water cooler. He never once answered to User's voice.
Teller had completely disappeared.
It was only reasonable to assume that something must've happened to him. Teller didn't miss work for anything, not even if he was sick. User wanted to blame The Entity, but. . .No, Entity wanted him, not Teller. And the only trace leading to any slight reason of his disappearance was a note.
'Clue number one' Some. . .photograph of a centipede.
User didn't know what that hint was actually supposed to mean, but he'd seen some of Teller's coworkers before. He was most familiar with Micah. . .But this just felt all too convenient.
Room 178, Roscoe T.
Signing with shaky hands would never get any easier, as User stood beneath the form of a large, insectoid body that clung to the ceiling with a loose and faceless human half perched upon it. It watched and waited silently with an eerie yet. . .sad sort of patience. Like it knew it had all of the time in the world in its lack-of hands.
'Have. You. Saw--' fuck. 'Seen. T-E-L-L-E-R?'
The sound of its legs against the wall when it drew closer made every inch of User's spine tingle. Made his blood cold and his skin sweat.
The last thing that he expected it to do was speak.
" ɪ ʜᴀᴠᴇɴ'ᴛ. . . "

While this writing might not be canon to the actual story, Roscoe is. Everybody say hello to another of Teller's coworkers.

CW! Horror Elements and an instance of swearing. <3
Coming in clutch at the very last second, huh?
Shiloh's back for another round, looking a little different than they did in the first event. In more ways than one, it seems...
Oh, bother. The glitch was originally a gif, but it would appear that the file is too large. This will do. <3

The last, official installment of The Bootleg Parable's original narrative was uploaded March 17 of 2024. It's safe to say that the story has been inactive for a touch more than a year by positively no intention. The prologue has been in the works for months- a very on and off progress between life and motivation. Many proofreads, revisions, and retakes, and in the end, the parts of the prologue that were rushed are still visible. But we are proud to have gotten as far as we did, and to finally have a starting point to present after all of this time.
That being said,
The prologue releases today. :-) April 27, 2024.
Do you remember, The twenty-first night of September? Love was changin' the minds of pretenders, while chasin' the clouds away! Our hearts were ringin' in the key that our souls were singin'. As we danced in the night, remember, how the stars stole the night away! Hey, hey, hey! Ba-dee-ya! Say, do you remember? Ba-dee-ya! Dancin' in September? Ba-dee-ya! Never was a cloudy day! Ba-du, ba-du, ba-du, ba-du! Ba-du, ba-du, ba-du, ba-du! Ba-du, ba-du, ba-du-da! Ba-du, yeah!
