AHH i love that quote sooo much!! and yes i absolutely understand what you mean fdfsgjs particularly post october 81 remus. something he loves HAS been taken away he IS falling to the floor crying but he still has to be sort of. awkward about it
hardback books do suck, I full agree that theyâre awful and very uncomfortable to hold
EXACTLY i hate them. even if hardbacks and paperbacks were the same price i wouldn't want them. i hate that they're heavier and more cumbersome to carry around i hate the annoying dust jackets that i always end up damaging i hate that i feel like i'm ruining them by annotating them i hate them!!!!!!!!!!

hi bab!! yes i did finish it!! it was good!! i really didn't know much about it prior to reading other than that it was about a pandemic so i didn't have very specific expectations but i enjoyed it!! felt quite different to the usual things i read. and in a strange way i think i sort of enjoyed it more in light of its parallels to real world events because i was able to connect to it more. it didn't completely like. blow me away (i think i gave it like 3.75 stars on storygraph?). but its very well written and definitely worth reading!! i do recommend!!

I read âin lieu of beaujolaisâ and the opening of them in the car is so good, I love the vibe and the imagery. James would 100% try to convince Remus to let him drive the car and call the gear shift a ârod thingâ lmfao

ahh thank you so much!! honestly the entire car scene at the start was written to justify remus doing the reversing thing while driving. i just wanted him to do that that is the ONLY reason they are in the car literally xx i'm so glad you liked it!! <33

hi omg!! my reply to this is late because frankly when it came in i had made embarrassingly little progress (not because i wasnât enjoying it but because i was Sleepy) and im still not super far in yet (just over 100 pages) but im really enjoying it!! recalling all the things about tarttâs style that i enjoyed from the secret historyâŚi really love the way she writes and particularly the way she writes charactersâŚam enjoying all the art talk too, any time a new painting is mentioned i have a little google so i know what theyâre talking about xx will be back with updates when it really Gets Going but im very into it rn!! :-)
