Alec stared at him, confused. Did he not want him there or did he want him there? He could tell that Magnus was visibly upset and he wished that there was something he could do to help him, but he’d pushed away the comfort that he’d been trying to give him. “Then what, what is this about, Magnus? Have I done something to upset you?” Knowing him, he had and he just didn’t know what it was yet. “Whatever it was, I’m sorry.”

Alec follows his boyfriend into the bedroom, shedding the sweat and blood stained tshirt he’d been wearing and tossing it aside. “Why are you so mad at me?”

Maybe Magnus hating him now would make all of this easier. Maybe he’d let himself move on, but he couldn’t. His heart ached at the thought that they would never be together again. “Magnus, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I never meant to hurt you,” he said and hoped that Magnus was listening. Half the time he felt like Magnus ignored his apologies. “I just wanted…I thought…I wanted answers and you never gave them to me. I know now that I shouldn’t have gone to anyone else to get those answers and I hope that one day you can forgive me.” He knew that Magnus’s tone had suggested that he’d rather not talk to him. “I’ll just…I’ll go. I came here to get the last of my things and to…to apologize again, because I really am sorry.”

“You’re being a tad bit dramatic, aren’t you, Magnus? I’m sure you’re fine. Besides, this will be over before you know it.” Alec reached out his hands and gently cupped Magnus’s face with them. He brushed his thumbs along Magnus’s cheeks and said, “We’re going to have a baby at the end of this. Doesn’t that make it worth it?” He had been there for Magnus as much as his warlock had allowed him to be and he wasn’t going to go anywhere anytime soon.

   “Yeah, well...so are you!” Alec absolutely hated fighting with Magnus. He wished that they could get along all the time, but that wasn’t how relationships work. “And if you don’t like how I am then I’m just going to leave.” He grabbed up his things and stuffed his shoes on his feet. “Goodbye, Magnus. Don’t call me anytime soon.”

Alec looks up, finally, and nods. “Yeah, my foot fell asleep.” He wasn’t sure where that excuse came from but whatever, it beat anything else he could come up with... or the truth, which was that he was getting hard under the table. He turns his attention back to Magnus, looking him in the eyes for a split second before turning his attention back to Izzy and Jace. “I have to go the bathroom. I’ll be right back.”

Alec coughed, nearly choking on his iced tea as he heard what Magnus was whispering in his ear. He was thankful for the near choke though, because the coughing made his face red so no one would know he was actually red from all the dirty things he was hearing from his boyfriend… while at the dinner table… with his best friend and his sister. 

“None at all, are you sure? What about that Tessa Gray? I thought that she had children.” Though he figured that her Shadowhunter blood had made things different for her. “My eyes? There’s nothing special about my eyes. Yours though, they’re so pretty.” Alec found himself giggling a little (though he wouldn’t admit to doing that), as Magnus pressed the kissed around his eyes. “You’re adorable, you know that? I do hope they look like you.” He reached out a hand to rest it gently against Magnus’s stomach.
