They’d been up against the Universal Church of Truth and it had been a pretty anti-climatic battle, really, right up until one of those robed freaks had blasted them with some sort of freaky white death ray of doom or something.

A bright flash of light and some crappy tingling later, Wade was fine (of course), trigger happy robe head had a katana sticking out of his chest, and nothing was bleeding.

He’d been a bit worried about ol’ Spidey, though. Wade could take creepy death rays like a champ, but Peter was more likely to melt or whatever when rays hit him.

Which way, when Wade saw the man standing perfectly fine, he was significantly relieved. 

"Petey, Petester, my main Pete man," Wade crowed, arms thrown wide and a large grin plastered on his face. "It’s good to see you alive, man," he beamed, slinging an arm around the hero’s shoulder. "Didn’t know if you’d make it out of that last fight, yanno," he added, shaking Peter slightly. "Look at you - all alive and breathing and sexy! I could just kiss your gorgeous face," he blurted out, eyes wide with shock as the words slipped past his mouth.

And the surprises just kept coming, really, as Wade tugged the smaller man closer and planted a firm, passionate kiss right on his lips.

Welp.
