Taylor Swift Donates $50K to 11-Year-Old With Cancer
No one takes care of their fans quite like Taylor Swift.Â
The 25-year-old singer managed to outdo herself after learning about 11-year-old fan Naomi Oakes, who was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia on June 25. The little girl was planning to attend Swiftâs August 18 concert with her best friend in Phoenix, Arizona, but plans changed after her diagnosis. Instead, sheâll be spending that time â and the 6-9 months around it â in the hospital facing aggressive treatment.Â
As she preps to face the cancer head-on, sheâs chosen Swiftâs âBad Bloodâ as her fight song.Â
Naomiâs family made a video telling her story and, with the help of Taylor Nation, just two days after it was uploaded to YouTube, the âShake It Offâ singer donated $50,000 to Naomiâs GoFundMe page writing, âTo the beautiful and brave Naomi, Iâm sorry you have to miss it, but there will always be more concerts. Letâs focus on getting you feeling better. Iâm sending the biggest hugs to you and your family."Â
But it doesnât end there: Naomiâs family documented the moment she saw the sweet message for the first time, and itâs a tear jerker. Check out the video to see Naomiâs reaction and tune in to The Insider With Yahoo on TV tonight for the latest in entertainment news.
