Hey! Saw your post about Ocs. How many relatives does Maeve have? Are they all from Southern Thedas? And what kind of relationship does she have with her family? :)
The Trevelyanâs are a large clan, according to in-game content. Some family branches live as far as Nevarra and the Tevinter Imperium. So, she has all lot of relatives. But if you were referring to the number of her family members then Maeve is the youngest child. The only daughter among sons, of Bann Guy Trevelyan and his wife, Lady (Bann) Allene Trevelyan. Â

As for the question as to their location being in southern Thedas, itâs yes. Maeve, and her brothers, were born and raised in Ostwick, the infamous âdual-walled cityâ. Aside from Maeve (and Bran would have taken responsibility as a Templar to travel for sake of duty and family), they are very deeply-rooted in that city.

Maeveâs relationship w/ her parents:Â
Guy Trevelyan: She has very limited memory of her father, as he was the family head during her youth so he was focused much on the familyâs standing and connections. If not working, he spent his time nurturing his eldest son, Gilmore (and Egan, to that extent) to take over the family. He rarely spent time with his youngest children as they were to be sent off to the Chantry. Still, Maeve recalled that he was very pleased with her memorization of the Chant of Light especially at the young age. One more thing for him to praise as he was uneasy with that red hair of hers. Guy turned to his wifeâs expertise when it came to Maeveâs welfare so there was even more animosity towards him when Maeve was forced to go to the conclave.
Allene Trevelyan: Her mother looked to most of Maeveâs education, hiring tutors to instruct her on etiquette, history, and some music. All of which were intended to make her rise through ranks of the Chantry. But Allene made sure that her daughter never learned too much, and kept it restricted. Allene also was responsible for setting up Maeve with suitors, despite the fact that Maeve would be sent to the Chantry. Perhaps thinking she could change Maeveâs future to extending the family influence with a marriage. She even tried to dye Maeveâs hair black once thinking it might bring more marriages. Maeve is frankly annoyed with her mother, as the woman seems blind to Maeveâs voice, and tends to overrule her outburst of honesty for being âwhimsicalâ. Allene is very family centered, and on the familyâs future and loves her children. Unfortunately her love for Maeve makes her forgot that Maeve isnât the obedient girl she once was.Â
Even after a year following Corypheusâs defeat, she immediately began to plan and list candidates worthy of the âHerald of Andrasteâ at the dinner table. âFor the sake of the familyâ she says, but Maeve has had enough of that excuse and gets right to the point. Ends up stabbing the table with her dinner knife, actually.
