Lost In Hellās Kitchen || Betty & Matt
Betty cursed quietly, shaking her dead phone. Of course, Felix has to knock it off the charger last night and of course she did not notice it until too late. She pocketed her phone, before pulling her bag closer against her. She did not know where she was, but she was smart enough to know it was not a safe place. The other girl had been on high alert since the first cat call and it had only gotten worse from there.
She worried at her lip, looking around for someone who didnāt look like they would rip out her tongue for asking for help. She just had to go to that book talk, didnāt she? Just had to believe that she had lived here long enough not to get lost. Must have taken a wrong turn about a mile ago. Her hand came up to tuck a stray strand of hair behind her ear. Maybe she could duck into a coffee shop and see if anyone had a charger. Well, if she could find a coffee shop.
Betty wandered for a little bit longer, pausing when she saw a man sitting on a bench. He looked friendly enough. His clothes were nicer looking and his sunglasses seemed to be scratch free. He certainly looked like he was not packing heat, which was more than she could say for about half the people she had almost approached. She moved over to him, gently touching his shoulder to grab his attention before pulling her hand away.
āUmā¦hello sir, Iām so so sorry to bother you. I seem to be lost, I was supposed to end up in Brooklyn but I donāt think I am anywhere close. Where am I and do you know a way back? Well, back towards Times Square anyway, getting a bit too late to wander to Brooklyn then back home I suppose.ā The sun was getting awfully low for her personal taste.
