i've been very much enjoying the Void Behind but I'll admit it gets me really jazzed about the prospect of seeing how the societies in CoaWS develop.
like we've seen how much the Fleet has forgotten and re-interpreted their own history, and that's mostly just a consequence of time and politics doing what they do.
But the humans who landed on Tyk's Earth? While I'm sure they brought down some media with cultural and historical significance, the emergency situation would have meant more practical, survival-focused information was prioritized. It's left very unclear by the end of the story whether or not they're going to be able to preserve/repair/rebuild their tech long term. My personal bet is that they can and will, but there's going to be some serious data loss before then. And all of this is before we get into the culture clash of two Totally different species going on.
Add into that "our planet used to have only one type of people on it, before another fell from the sky in ships of fire" is an origin story just Begging to be mythologized, and i think we're gonna see some pretty buckwild interpretations of things.
