I have recently fallen down a rabbit hole and I need to tell the full story...
I had a random talk with a friend about the different sub-genres of post-apocalyptic fashion. You know, seapunk, dunepunk, solarpunk...
And we come to the conclusion that all of these scenarios are pretty far away from present and there isn't really a fashion sub-genres for a future where the apocalyptic scenario has just happened and there is still a lot of everyday items around to use in fashion.
But something about that idea is making an old memory stir. I have seen something like that before. I remember seeing a top made from multiple pairs of deconstructed shoes and similar items, all in combination with crazy hair and makeup sorta like in cyberpunk.
It was a weird TV drama that ran pretty late at night on one of the usual kids channels, so I only ever caught a hand full of episodes but at least I still remembered the title of the show. The Tribe.
And with that on my mind again, I started to look it up.
And then I watched a few episodes.
And then after 8 days, I was done with the first season.
So I started watching the next one
This series is so weird on so many levels and I am not quite sure how something like this came to be made and aired on a kid's channel.
But it's so damn entertaining and addictive, even if I spend half the episode dunking on it.
Half of the main characters are awful! But I love them!
I really appreciate that they changed the tribe cats names + midnight's speech pattern for the graphic novels. While the authors had good intent, at the time, (at least from what I've read about how thr tribe was thought up) these are definitely outdated and insensitive now. So, it's good that these new graphic novels can do away with some of the ickier parts of the original books while keeping and adding onto what was good about the originals. It's a real breath of fresh air.

One piece and the tribe (the new Zealand TV from 1999-2003). I do not know how the adults from one piece are alive so the world switch was tribe to one piece world.
Like image Lex and Dragon meeting. Thats the exact same font. Eye tattoo and everything.
Also some of the kids from Tribe have never seen an adult. Omfg, they'd be gaged.
Wait I gotta add some thing. A "thug" from the wrong side of the tracks/ grandline and the uper crust rich boy he kinda sorta got a thing for or atlest they like to yell and shove each other.
Brayand Lex and Crocodile and Dragon.
