Tagged by @epiphany-jones! I have been rereading my own fic for six hours now, ahaha; as weirdly difficult as it still is to say this aloud, I am really proud of a lot of stuff I wrote this year. I love writing BG3 fic, absolutely, but getting to return to DA felt like coming home.

It took far too long to narrow these down, but I ended up with one sentence each for the main pairings I wrote this year. (It also says something that all of the Solavellan lines I was picking out were these deep ponderances of love and grief and the infinite weight of loss; and all of the Rookanis lines were Rook jokes that still make me laugh out loud.)

She’s buried the words in her heart for ten years and more, and now that she’s finally ready to drag them out into the light, they’re as stubborn and clinging as taproots.

I really liked this line for Solas & Adahla. It hit the rhythm I was looking for, and I was really happy with the metaphor; I wanted something earthy, grounded, and difficult, but still with the potential of recovery (or new growth), and I felt like this really landed that tone. I'm also not ashamed to admit I've thought of those taproots every time I've ripped out a dead azalea in one particular corner of my garden that keeps killing azaleas.

"The greatest god of the elves was on his knees before me, and I thought, ‘this is for Lucanis, so he can reunite safely with his horrible wicked cousin Illario, whom I’ll hate until I die.’”

I try to be careful not to give my PCs too many traits of mine, just because I don't want them to be stand-ins for myself, but Rook can have my disgust for Illario for free.

Not really taken many pictures recently but the top 2 are from today. I took a pic to send my sister some my accessories for the ides of march/anniversary of the stabbing of the witch king (I know that's sauron. I don't have a witch king ring 😅) and playing with BB nephew at church. He said he was making me a puzzle like im the Nancy Drew games er play together. 😅🥰
