The southern part of the Territory is the only place where the border can theoretically be easily crossed - with the north's tall mountain, the east's expansive lake, and the west's endless ocean, there is technically nothing physical that stands in the way of a cat just leaving their homeland. No one does, though. It's a silly thought, to leave paradise. Don't even bother thinking about it. One would be laughed out of any conversation.
Notable locations are as follows.
THE RISING: Where the Scrub ends, the hills begin, with the very last coastal shrub being considered the start of the Slopes. Here, the grass is stiff and dark, which even deer don't bother to eat. Prey worth catching is not very common here, unless one enjoys skinny birds. Apprentices living close by, such as in the Hillock family or random Scattered groups, consider this a popular meeting place specifically for the lack of adults wandering around.
MOORLAND: The Slopes earn their name from these gently rolling hills, barely containing more than one or two random trees but full of tall, soft grass that is easy to hide within. The sun bakes this grass golden faster than in any part of the Territory, but wind cools the heat and makes the grass dance on most days. It's a lovely sight even from afar.
OAK FOREST: Closer to the lake is a wide woodland of oak trees, which has been specifically named as an area no group is allowed to claim as their territory. Gatherings, family get-togethers and performances almost all happen within this forest due to its mild temperatures, plenty of shade, and more than enough prey to feel dozens of cats. To take this forest as your own is to invite the anger of everyone else in the Clan, and punishment from the Leaders. As such, the Oak Forest is considered mandatory free land that is untouched except for periodic social events.
THE GREY: The last, most disturbing thing of note is an immense, intimidating wall of fog that no one has been able to see through in generations. It is not cold, nor is it damp. It's silent and unsettling, and very mysterious. Cats sometimes emerge from the Grey as newcomers to the Territory, having no recollection of their past or even their names, but only a drive to avoid going back into the mysterious nothing. Even looking at the Grey can lead to increased heart-rate and a sense of dread that one can only escape by turning away and finding business elsewhere.
