Grandpa Lewis Nixon’s obsession with the family name
Well, we all knew that Lew lived in a town named after the family name, Nixon, New Jersey. Also, their factory was named the Nixon Nitration Works.
They were living on Staten island from 1904 to 1923, and this house was located at “141 Nixon avenue”:
and...in 1934, the Nixon Nitration Wokrs started to manufacture a new product, which was basically a type of non-flammable cellulose, and he named it...“Nixolin”!

03 Aug 1934, Lew’s grandparents threw a farewell party for their butler Mr Nelson, who was in their service for 27 years and finally got to go back to Norway to visit his family. (His grandparents’ country house was at 23 Ocean ave. Monmouth Beach NJ.)
