My name is Isabella D’Amato.  I am a 27 year old with a great life.  I have a fabulous man - Luke McCaffey.  I have amazing friends - The Packt.  More about that later.  We live in the big city of Grand York for half of the year, when it’s warm and pleasant.  When the weather starts getting cold and not so friendly, we’re fortunate enough to head south and live on our private island of Sulani Falls.  More about that later too.  What more can I say?

About The Packt.  It’s the name of the group of my friends.  We’re a tight group and most of us have known each other since elementary school.  We, me and Deja, started the Packt in a not so serious manner around the second grade.  It was me, Deja, Catherine, Kimiko, Garet, Cameron, Amari,  and Noel.  And Zoe, more about her later.  Through the years, and through triumphs, losses, joy and pain - The Packt grew.  We called ourselves this combining the two words pack and pact.  We had common interests and we made these agreements that no matter what - we were gonna stick together.  By some miracle, for the most part we did.  We have.

By junior high Deja and I had met the McCaffey brothers.  Deja and Dylan had an instant attraction to each other - but we were like 12 - who’s serious at 12?  I liked Luke right away - but I wasstill playing with Barbie dolls - I didn’t see him that way.  By high school Deja and Dylan were sweethearts and Dylan was starring in the TV show Young Hearts.  He had the lead role and was making major money.  In our junior year of high school, Luke had joined his brother on the show - and they were both millionaires at 16 and 17.  THIS was how we got Sulani Falls.  The brothers retired from acting our 2nd year in college and put their money into real estate.  The island was one of the purchases.

Now, don’t think for six months of the year that we’re all lazy and lay around the beach.  Sulani Falls is our private island, but there are several houses on it that we rent out to trusted clientele - mostly friends that we grew up with or met in college.  We all work there, clean, cook, do scuba tours, fishing trips - but with days off - it’s our vacation too.

Now, about Zoe…….  Zoe was one of me and Deja’s closest friends in The Packt.  A few days after graduation from high school, Zoe made the decision to move East, alone and just disconnect.  She didn’t want to explain.  She never has.  At first we tried to push, but it was to no avail.  Most of us went to the same college, those who didn’t, kept in touch, and when we all graduated - we reconnected in Grand York.   We all took jobs and lived our lives but a few years ago is when the guys decided we should claim Sulani Falls and start spending the cold months there.

Most of us have kept in touch with Zoe - but none of us have seen her since she left.  She didn’t even return for Catherine and Ethan’s wedding.  None of us hold a grudge.  We all try to understand and support.  But we miss her.  I miss her.
