Is it okay if I can share this blog on mine? I feel like you are doing artists a huge favor here.
sure
Saw this and thought of you.
this is great
Here from Mexico to tell y'all a cool story. The SEP, or Public Education Secretary directly translated, made basically a contest, or more accurately a "call for help", for artists to design the book covers for the books that are used in public schools all over the country, all well and good, except that there's no prize or payment, and the only prize is recognition. The excuse for no payment given is obviously framed as because of the pandemic, and most artists ar obviously not falling for that and instead sending meme designs, or crap doodles made in MS Paint, as more often than not in this country, artists are mocked for not having real jobs, and were also categorized as a "not necessary" job. If some of you can read spanish i suggest looking into it's great.
Sorry if this is badly worded or something, have a nice day.
is this a shirt
if so i need it

I donât know if this even belongs here Iâm just so angry and donât know where else to vent.
So I decided to make my first ever Reddit post the other day and posted a drawing I made and it was all fine until one guy started pointing out how he doesnât believe me that itâs my artwork. So we started arguing back and forth with him basically just saying he will believe me if I post a Timelapse of me drawing it since âevery software has those now adaysâ.
I pointed out that I use Sai and didnât record it since I was already streaming at the same time (so I also had a few people who can vouch and one even did). + I donât see the use in doing Timelapseâs since I donât post them anywhere and it would just be a waste of saving space.
Either way I didnât want to let it sink in that my 10+ hour artwork was âfakedâ so I drew another (only 4 hours) recorded it and posted it. He then had the audacity to say (summed up) âit isnât the same picture, itâs way uglier and youâre lyingâ which first of all ouch? Itâs not ugly? But ok sure.
But more importantly I pointed out in the beginning of the argument that I didnât had a speedpaint of the posted picture so obviously I was going to draw something else (same hyper realistic style) because Iâm not going to draw another 10+ hours just to shove it down his throat. (Apart from that drawing the same picture twice so shortly after one another is just boring and meh)
Also I just feel like that even if I wouldâve posted the Timelapse of the original picture he wouldnât have believed me and wouldâve found another way of accusing me to fake it. I just donât get how some people can be so stuck up in their obviously wrong accusations instead of agreeing they made a mistake and apologizing.
.
Miss your posts. As a pro writer who's been asked so many times to do things for free it's great to see others saying no, too.
But if you're taking a break and/or have moved on, just wanted to send you appreciation and gratitude.
Thanks for your kind words đ
Ok Iâm not sure if this fits your blog because technically this wasnât for exposure because a only a group of people would have seen it.
So when I was 14 and in my freshman year of high school, I was in special education because I had autism and ADHD, among other things. I had recently discovered how to animate in flipaclip and, as I was excited about my new skill I told one of my special ed teachers. The next day she asked me to animate a 4ish minute long animation on social skills. I asked her to pay me for it (like 20$) because I knew what commissions were at the time. She said that she couldnât (school policy or something, which is fair.) then she said that i would âmake the lower functioning kids happyâ so thatâs why I had to do it. I told her to fuck off in more polite terms. She never liked me after that. Sorry if this doesnât fit the theme of the blog.
no it's fine
